Ethiopian Home Cooking with Esky

Join me for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn to make injera and classic vegan or non-vegan dishes, then gather around a Mesob to share the meal the Ethiopian way. Also immerse yourself in the timeless ritual of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, with freshly roasted beans, fragrant incense, and the spirit of togetherness. If you are food lovers, cultural explorers, or anyone looking to try something new, this is more than a cooking class, it’s a journey into the heart of Ethiopian hospitality.

About

Hi, I’m Esky! I was born and raised in Ethiopia and now live in Berlin with my husband and daughter. My mom taught me how to cook traditional Ethiopian food, mainly to prepare me for marriage :) She succeeded and here I am sharing the wisdom! :) jokes aside,  I’d love to invite you into my kitchen for a hands-on experience of cooking authentic Ethiopian dishes, both vegan and non-vegan.

For me, cooking has always been a way to stay connected to home. I started by making Ethiopian dishes for my family, then occasionally for friends and quickly noticed how much joy the food brought to people. Beyond the flavours, sharing Ethiopian food is about stories, traditions, and moments of togetherness.

"I had such a wonderful time at Esky’s Ethiopian cooking class! She made the experience feel welcoming and fun. Esky has a gift for teaching—breaking down the recipes into simple steps while also sharing the cultural background and traditions behind the dishes. It truly felt like a window into her home and heritage.

The injera was the best I've had outside of Ethiopia! She brings the teff flour used to make it from Ethiopia, giving it an authentic spongy feel. The food we made was delicious. She also gave us the recipes and some spices so we can recreate them at home. I am not the most confident cook, but Esky made me feel comfortable and I was very proud of the final result.

I’d highly recommend this class to anyone. It is a fun experience to share with friends or anyone looking to try something new."
