Service Description

The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a cherished ritual and a cornerstone of Ethiopian hospitality. It begins with carefully selected green coffee beans, which are roasted over an open flame until fragrant and golden brown. The roasted beans are then ground. The coffee is brewed slowly in a Jebena, a special clay pot, allowing the flavors to deepen and develop. The ceremony is a communal experience, bringing family, friends, and neighbors together. Small cups of coffee are poured and served in succession, often accompanied by Yebuna Qurs, lightly roasted barley, popcorn, or traditional sweets. Throughout the ceremony, conversation, storytelling, and connection flow freely. It is a moment to pause, share, and celebrate both the coffee and the bonds of community. More than a beverage, the Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a cultural tradition that embodies warmth, respect, and togetherness.
